My favorite website

My favorite website that is relacionated with my career, journalism is La Raza Cómica, an online magazine of latino american culture and politics.

This magazine is a means of alternative journalism that talks about different situations of Latin America historical, cultural and politics. Differents writers from all the countries of Latin America write in the website to let the readers know the things that are happening in their countries.

The site is divided into nine sections. These sections carry names of songs, books, movies or popular phrases of latin america that represent a subject of which to write in the web site. For example one of the sections is called I the worst of all (Yo, la peor de todas) that is a phrase of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz to refer ironically to misogynistic censorship in the times of the viceroyalty of New Leon. This section picks up writings from feminism.

I like this website because it talks about subjects that are not so much known but from the sensitivities and the subversive journalism. Also there are photographies, music and visual creations that the website exhibits off differents authors. I think is closer to reader.
